Ryan was placed on waivers Tuesday for the purpose of reassignment to the AHL, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site. Ryan was dealing with an undisclosed injury and started the season on the injured non-roster list. The 31-year-old has moved past his injury and will head to AHL Chicago if he clears waivers. Ryan last appeared in the NHL during the 2020-21 campaign with Carolina. Source: CBS Sports
